Reflective Statement
During my production of my film, I have realized how important time manangement is and how much you can improve your film if you have extra time by the end. Thankfully, I’ve managed to finish my film early so I ended up doing a lot of editting, specifically on lighting and shadowing, as maya kept my light renders a bit flat. I’m focusing on becoming a 3D Animator, so I’m actually glad of how much time I took to improve my animations step by step. I believe one of my mistakes was I rushed when it came on rendering, which made me realize that my textures on my character rigs could be improved but it was too late to fix my texture and render my whole film. This is something I will come back after my deadlines. In terms of sound, I talked to a composer to produce me music for my film, however, it didn’t turn out very well. Thanks to my tutor, he found 2 soundtracks from Carl Orff which complimented my film very well. I’m aiming to find a music composer to have an original soundtrack for my film at some point. That was my first time directing a film based on my own story, and I struggled a little bit with storytelling at first. Thanks to my tutors, I ended up cutting some shots which didn’t fit my story very well, and replaced them with better ones.
Overall, I feel like I’ve accomplished what I wanted. I’ve learned a lot through my journey of creating my film and hoping to improve my animation skills further.
